Here at Solid Ink Studio we aim to provide a very cool laid back, friendly and professional experience for first time clients with their virgin skin to our die hard repeat customers who are able to relax whist getting tattooed by having the comfort of Spotify and Netflix.

Who can and can’t get tattooed?

It is illegal to tattoo anyone under the age of 18. Proof of age will be required by showing a Passport or Photo Driving Licence.

All tattoo clients must be over the age of 18 and permission from parents or guardians does not change the law.

If you come intoxicated with alcohol or drugs you will not be tattooed.

You cannot get tattooed when you are pregnant or breast-feeding, this can negatively impact both your health and your baby.

When you are sick, post or pre-surgery or extraordinarily stressed out it is not ideal to get tattooed.

People with compromised immune systems (e.g. Diabetes, Hepatitis, HIV) typically take longer to heal, and I will require doctor’s authorisation.

Rude and arrogant people will be asked to leave and will be refused to be tattooed.

Where’s best to park?

Outside the studio there is limited parking and is ideal to use when popping in for your consultations as it it for free, 1 hour no return.

There are two pay and display car parks very close to the studio, Farncombe Station Car Park and North Street Car Park are both a 3 minute walk.

What should I bring to my consultation appointment?

You can bring in your own artwork or references and ideas, this will help to draw you a custom tattoo! The more the better. Personal drawings may need to be rework based on the drawing’s “tattooability”.

*At your consultation please let me know if you have any health issues that that you think could affect you being tattooed or affect the healing of the tattoo.

How should I prepare for my tattoo appointment?

Please use AVEENO moisturising lotion twice a day 1-2 weeks (depending how dry the area of the skin is) before your appointment. This will not only help me tattooing the skin but will help you with comfort and lowering any potential pain.

Please shave the area you are getting tattooed if it’s hairy and take a shower. Please don’t over do the deodorant and aftershave as this can be quite overpowering for me when tattooing close the body.

It is ideal to eat within two hours of being tattooed. Having stable blood sugar bolsters your immune system and helps the body deal with the fluctuation of endorphins, which are emitted during the tattoo process. If you have a long tattoo session then its good to bring some snacks with you.
No alcohol 8 hours before your tattoo.

Everyones time is valuable and I keep a tight schedule so please be on time for your appointment.
Not 30 minutes early or 30 minutes late.
If you are going to be more than 10 minutes late due to traffic, parking, etc then please call, email or drop a message on one of the social media platforms.

Can I use numbing cream?

Yes you can use numbing cream but please beware when it wears off the pain will become 5 times stronger.
Please follow the instructions when applying the cream to get the best results.

How do I look after my tattoo?

You will be given an after care sheet but if you have lost it you can click here.

Deposits

When paying a deposit you are agreeing to following

NO DEPOSIT – NO BOOKING
Deposits are non-refundable
A deposit is taken to secure the date only and this will be deducted from tattoo price
If you need to change your appointment an additional deposit will be require to secure the new date
Deposits cannot be transferred to be used with a new appointment
Deposits cannot be transferred to be used with someone else’s appointment
Deposits between £50-100 depending on size
Day session deposits £150

Tattoo Aftercare

SOLID INK AFTERCARE SHEET

DO NOT TOUCH YOUR TATTOO WITH DIRTY HANDS OR LET YOUR FRIENDS TOUCH YOUR TATTOO. KEEP AWAY FROM DIRT AND DUST BECAUSE THIS CAN INFECT YOUR TATTOO !!!

• Before Cleaning the tattooed area, WASH YOUR HANDS with soap and water.

AFTER 3 DAYS carefully remove protective tattoo film.

YOUR 5 DAY AFTER CARE

Gently wash your tattoo using antibacterial hand wash (e.g. CAREX) and water
Dry with PAPER TOWEL.
With a CLEAN hand, apply a SMALL amount of AVEENO LOTION and rub it into tattoo

Repeat cleaning (2-5 times a day)
Application of the Aveeno (after wash)
For the first 5 days please avoid drying your fresh tattoo with bath towel, just use a Kitchen roll/paper towel

DO NOT OVERSATURATE THE TATTOO WITH THE AVEENO – USING TO MUCH WILL IRRITATE THE SKIN AND/OR MAY CAUSE SMALL BLISTERS, HEAT RASH.
Too little and tattoo may scab excessively.

Wearing tight or restrictive clothing may irritate your tattoo or cause loss of ink.

Weeping is normal for the first tew days (which may stain clothing), as is itching, slight redness, bruising and peeling .
Do not itch or pick at your tattoo, as this will damage it.
Healing usually takes 7-10 days, depending on the size of the tattoo.

Treat your new tattoo as an open wound. Keep it clean!

For THREE WEEKS avoid sunbathing or tanning, as well as bathtub, pool, pound, jacuzzi etc.
Showering is ok.

Please allow 4 weeks of healing before scheduling any touch-ups, as your tattoo may not have
fully healed until then.
We reserve the right to REFUSE to touch up your tattoo if you have intentionally ignored these
aftercare instructions. Its obvious to tell when aftercare instructions are not followed :)IF YOU

IF YOU IGNORE AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS – YOU CAN INFECT YOUR TATTOO!!!!!

Failure to follow these aftercare instructions will probably result in a poorly healed tattoo. Do not deviate from these instructions unless advised to do so by a health care provider.
